Everyone gets to "Defy Gravity" and learn to be "Pop-u-lar." Sing, dance, and act your way through the untold story of the witches of Oz while building confidence and making new friends. Get ready for a spellbinding adventure full of music, magic, and unforgettable fun!
This camp explores ensemble musical theatre training for performance. You don’t have to read music but should enjoy singing and basic dance. We’ll spend the week working on ensemble vocal pieces with staging so we have something to share at the end.

Our Performance-Based camps offer children the opportunity to experience the thrill of preparing for a live performance. While still engaging in theatre games and activities, the focus is on honing skills for polished performances. Children build confidence, discipline, and focus through character development, staging scenes, and regular rehearsals. They learn the importance of commitment and hard work in achieving their goals.
Due to limited space for audiences in our classrooms, we will record the end-of-class/camp “sharing” and send parents the video link, allowing each family to celebrate their child’s performance at a time convenient for everyone in the family and making it possible to share with distant family members easily. The student is also able to see their performance on screen! And you can opt to download the video directly from the link provided to keep it forever.  “Sharings” are informal performances we prepare for the final day. Our goal is to engage the students in preparing for the low-pressure performance without causing undue anxiety and without spending every minute of class time solely repeating rehearsals. The “sharing” will not be highly polished and will be very low-tech, as our primary goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable class experience filled with group interaction and fun. 

Required for all classes/camps:

• Comfortable clothing that allows for movement
• Shoes that stay on feet and cover toes
• Water bottle labeled with student's name
• Nut-free snack & beverage. Lunch boxes cannot be shared between students--please pack snacks individually for each child. If you elect NOT to send a snack, please let the teacher and your child know so no one is left out at snack time.
