Are you unsure if your child will enjoy a theatre class? Is committing to an entire semester a stretch? This class will invite you into the classroom to watch your child as they get a chance to sample some of our standard curriculum! The caregiver also attends to observe the class and handle bathroom breaks, and there are only four days to commit to.
Due to the short nature of this class, there will not be an end-of-semester “sharing.”
EXPLORATION Designed to foster imagination, creativity, and social development in young children using dramatic play, but this class goes beyond traditional playtime, offering a unique blend of storytelling, role-playing, and interactive games designed to spark their imagination and build confidence. This low-pressure environment will ease a child into comfortably being in front of people and expressing ideas to a group. We’ll explore group problem solving, being seen, and heard in front of an audience, areas of the stage, and character development. The class aims to create a joyful and supportive environment where children can develop social, emotional, and cognitive skills through imaginative play.
STORY DRAMA Great preparation for literacy and problem solving this class allows the students to explore themes, characters, and settings of a different children’s book each class. Students act-out and perform creatively through the world of the book and use their imaginations to solve problems together. We'll create exciting new characters, explore dramatic environments, and develop literacy, collaboration, and social skills along the way.
