Stage design creates most of the memorable “magic” of theatre and students in this class will begin to delve into the design process and how the set, lights, props and sound support the overall production. A GREAT class if working behind the scenes on a show might appeal to you or you have a passion for visual arts! A designer is the ultimate collaborator – taking the needs of the script, the concept of the director, the limits of the budget or schedule and STILL creating an imaginative world for the play. In addition, students will have the opportunity of helping with scenic painting, building props, on top of learning about programming on a light board and designing sets, lights, and sounds for a show.
This class aims to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to theatre design, fostering creativity, collaboration, and an appreciation for the technical aspects that contribute to the magic of theatre.
There will be no “sharing” video for parents, but and if your child wants to get involved with an upcoming show, here’s the link https://scchildrenstheatre.org/work-backstage/
