Do you know that we use our students as members of our run crew for ALL our productions! Every show you see has dedicated young people running the spotlights, handling the backstage set moves or prop handoffs, costume quick changes and sometimes even running the light board or body mics.  It’s a whole other world of theatre and no theatre can operate without it. Students will get to go up to the grid and follow-spot catwalk, learn how to safely operate a follow-spot as well as learning how to run a computerized lighting console in our state-of-the-art theatre space. This class will help students get acquainted with the backstage world and run crew jobs and expectations. A chance to explore the backstage side of theatre and potentially get ready to work on one of our upcoming productions (not a requirement, but an option).

Students must wear closed-toe shoes for safety, have long hair tied back and wear clothes that can get dirty.

There will be no “sharing” video for parents.

**We DO meet when Greenville County Schools are off for Teacher Workdays or Holidays.**

Maybe you have an interest in behind the scenes and learning more about the process of putting a show together?  Then you might be interested in…3rd Stage Mentors/Tech Crew for Grades 5-12 – please contact Traysie Amick traysie@scchildrenstheatre.org if you are interested in assisting the 3rd Stage class each week all the way through the performances (Dec 16 & 17).  Mentors come 30 minutes prior to the actual class time (so 4:30 on Wed) to help prepare material for the class start at 5pm.  You will act as a mentor to the younger students during the rehearsal process (help with writing down blocking, developing character, rehearsing lines, etc) and become the full run crew for the tech rehearsals and performances.  There is no cost for this learning experience, but YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO COMMIT TO THE WHOLE SEMESTER with minimal expected absences (none allowed during tech/performances).

Please select a "1" in order to register (the block directy above STUDENT'S INFORMATION).
