Discover the excitement of turning a clever thought into a comic sketch. We will study the pieces of a story, quick formulas to sort ideas, and constructive ways to give and receive critique. After students create the short scripts, we work comic timing, bold character choices, and big choices to take the sketches from the page to the stage!
Essentially, students will:
· Write their own comic sketches
· Critique each other’s first drafts
· Find inspiration from critique for second drafts
· Design technical elements for the pieces
· Cast the sketches
· Work Laban and Lessac to build large characters
· Explore objective, tactics, and subtext
· Perform and/or run crew for the final product
We will record the end-of-semester “sharing” for all classes and send parent’s the video link.
**We DO meet when Greenville County Schools are off for Teacher Workdays or Holidays, but will skip Tuesday classes for Halloween, Oct 31.**
